Tea time emerged as a wonderful tradition across British homes a few decades before the Royal Gorge Mansion came to life in the U.S. Known for its sweet and savory treats, accompanied by spectacular freshly brewed teas and clotted cream, Afternoon Tea became an excellent excuse for gathering dear friends and family.
Wine Tastings at the Royal Gorge Mansion beckon you to relax with friends and family while enjoying excellent old and new world wines and charcuterie. Dine inside our beautifully decorated historic home or sit outside and take in the lush beauty of this historic estate.

Wine Tastings at the Mansion begin fall 2023!
Served in the luxurious parlors or outside on the beautifully landscaped grounds of this grand mansion built by Lyman Robison in 1882, our Wine Tastings at the Mansion are a relaxing affair you won’t soon forget. This famous Colorado mansion is located just two short blocks away from the train depot, in Canon City, Colorado.
During your tasting, you’ll enjoy a flight of four, hand-picked and award-winning wines, featuring both old world and new. Sitting on four beautiful acres, complete with outdoor seating, a gorgeous fountain, and shade trees, the Mansion provides the ultimate venue to enjoy a romantic outing, featuring great wine, beer, full-bar, and a delicious, chef-prepared charcuterie.
Guests will drive themselves directly to the mansion for this experience. Feel free to arrive up to 30 minutes early to experience the manicured grounds and stunning exterior design accents of this historic estate. Note that there is no train ride involved in our Wine Tasting at the Royal Gorge Mansion.
High Tea Service at the Royal Gorge Mansion

Your afternoon tea begins with a glass of champagne to enjoy as you peruse the menu, featuring classic selections and seasonal tea blends.
Every Royal Gorge Mansion tea experience includes your choice of tea served in English-style porcelain tea pots, and a tiered curate of dainty and delicious finger sandwiches, petit fours, and house-baked scones served with Devonshire cream and locally sourced jams.
If you are celebrating an occasion, a selection of sparkling, red and white wines, homemade hot chocolate, and other sweet & savory goodies are available for purchase to enhance the experience.

Afternoon Tea with Santa
Throughout the holiday season (November and December) we invite you to join us at the festively decorated Royal Gorge Mansion for a very special afternoon with Santa Claus.
Enjoy your choice of seasonal tea or home-made hot chocolate, delicious finger sandwiches, classic tea pastries, and house-baked scones with Devonshire cream and locally sourced jams.
Before departing, Santa will make a grand appearance and present each child with a special gift. Photographers will be on hand to facilitate a holiday photo available for purchase.
Reservations for 2023 Afternoon Tea with Santa are not yet available to book. Coming soon!
Reservations are required for High Tea Service at the Royal Gorge Mansion. Seatings occur at 12 pm. Reservations at appreciated but not required for Wine Tastings. Seatings occur at 3 pm, 4:30 pm and 6 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes before your reservation.
About The Mansion
A stunning example of historic architecture, this turn of the century mansion is one of Colorado’s most beautifully preserved homes on the National Historic Registry. At 6,500 square feet, it feels luxurious yet cozy — and is a beautiful destination for an Afternoon Tea experience and special events.
